Romania national team head coach Mircea Lucescu lost consciousness during the team's training session. Sport24.az reports that the media of the country in question has reported about this.
According to the source, the team's medical staff provided him with first aid before the ambulance crew arrived. Lucescu was rushed to the hospital and will undergo a thorough examination.
Sources in the Romanian Federation say he suffered a heart attack. The 80-year-old specialist has previously undergone several heart surgeries.
Given the incident, the Romanian national team will play against Slovakia on March 31 without its head coach.
It should be noted that on Thursday, Romania lost to Turkey 0-1 in the semi-final of the qualifying play-off stage and ended its fight to qualify for WC-2026.
