"Milan" has dismissed head coach Massimiliano Allegri.
İdman.Biz reports that CEO Giorgio Furlani and sporting director Igli Tare have also been relieved of their duties.
"For much of the season, we held the top two spots in Serie A and had a real chance to compete for the Scudetto. The final part of the season was completely different from our previous performances, and yesterday's disappointing defeat in the final game turned the season into an unambiguous failure.
The time has come for change and a comprehensive restructuring of football operations. As of today, we are parting ways with CEO Giorgio Furlani, sporting director Igli Tare, head coach Massimiliano Allegri, and technical director Geoffrey Moncada. We thank each of them for their hard work and dedication to "Milan" during their tenure," the club's press service said in a statement.
After 38 games of the Italian championship, "Milan" scored 70 points and finished the tournament in fifth place, outside the Champions League zone.
