Meeting of the Azerbaijan Student Football Federation Held

The next meeting of the Executive Committee of the Azerbaijan Student Football Federation (ASFF) Public Union was held. Sport24.az reports that this was announced by the AFFA press service.

The president of the Federation, Firudin Gurbanov, spoke about the results of the 2024 season of student football, expressed his views on the main issues on the agenda, touched upon the necessary issues related to the implementation of the 2021-2025 Development Concept, and noted the work done in student football and the measures that need to be taken.

Gurbanov noted in his speech that the winner of the Azerbaijan Student League's 2023/2024 season, the team of the Azerbaijan Sports Academy, took 5th place at the 5th European University Games held among students in Debrecen, Hungary.

Then, the executive director of the ASFF Public Union, Elnur Abdullayev, presented the federation's report on activities during 2024, and the general secretary Latif Novruzov provided information on the results of the Azerbaijan Student League's activities last year.

Later, the members of the Executive Committee exchanged views on current issues on the agenda. The current state of the Azerbaijan Student League and the importance of the league in the development of student football in the country were discussed. During the discussions, attention was drawn to the importance of the participation of higher education institutions' teams in international competitions among students in the coming years.

Finally, it was decided to start preparations for the participation of a student team in the European Futsal Championship among students, which will be held in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, in July.
