Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will not participate in the friendly match against Finland.
İdman.Biz reports that Germany's head coach Julian Nagelsmann confirmed that the 40-year-old goalkeeper will not play in the match on May 31 due to a calf muscle problem. The specialist stated that the coaching staff made this decision to avoid increasing the risk.
According to Nagelsmann, this decision was also discussed with Neuer, and the experienced goalkeeper agreed with it. The German national team coach announced that Oliver Baumann will guard the goal in the match against Finland.
It should be noted that Neuer recently resumed his international career and was included in Germany's squad for the 2026 World Cup. Nagelsmann plans to use him as the main goalkeeper for the World Cup.
The experienced goalkeeper played in 37 matches for Bayern last season, keeping a clean sheet in 11 of them.
