The plans of 28-year-old forward Marcus Rashford, who plays on loan for the Spanish football team "Barcelona", to stay in the Catalan club are in question.
Idman.Biz reports that the English football club "Manchester United" does not want to compromise on the player's transfer fee. The Manchester representative will not accept an offer lower than the £26 million (59.06 million AZN) buyout clause stipulated in Rashford's loan agreement.
"Barcelona" is trying to reduce this amount due to its financial situation. Although the Catalan club wants to keep the player in its squad, "Manchester United" plans to use the funds from the sale in summer transfers.
Mick Brown, former chief scout of "Manchester United", said that £26 million is considered a "favorable price" for a player of Rashford's level and the club will not agree to a lower amount. According to him, the interest of other European clubs - PSG, "Newcastle" and "Tottenham" - in the player strengthens the position of the English representative.
It should be noted that the English striker left "Manchester United" last summer after tensions arose in his relationship with Ruben Amorim. Michael Carrick's appointment at the club, on the other hand, is renewing the possibility of Rashford's return.
