Mahir Emreli, the striker of the Azerbaijan national football team, has revealed that he once received an offer from "Hull City," which was owned by the famous Turkish businessman Acun Ilıcalı.
İdman.Biz reports that M. Emreli spoke about this on the "90 Minutes" program broadcast live on "CBC Sport".
Mahir Emreli even stated that he spoke directly with Acun Ilıcalı and revealed the details of the discussions:
"However, when I read in the press that Yakirovic, with whom I worked together at Zagreb's "Dinamo" at one time, was coming to "Hull City" as head coach, I changed my mind. I have great respect for Yakirovic, but I knew that I was not suitable for his playing system".
