Croatian national team and Milan midfielder Luka Modrić is preparing to end his football career.

It was reported that the 40-year-old football player will officially announce his decision after the 2026 World Cup. The World Cup will be Modrić's last tournament in his career.
Luka started his professional career in 2002. He wore the uniform of Zagreb "Dinamo", "Tottenham", "Real Madrid" in different years. The Croatian midfielder has played a total of 1128 games in the club and national team. Currently, Luka Modrić plays for the Italian "Milan" club.
Modrić has won 33 titles during his career. He has won the UEFA Champions League six times with Real Madrid. In 2018, he won the Golden Ball and was also selected as the best football player of the year according to FIFA and UEFA versions. In the same year, he reached the final of the World Championship with the Croatian national team.
