Luis Suarez has not been included in Uruguay's squad for the 2026 World Cup.
Idman.Biz reports that the 39-year-old striker is not on the list announced by Marcelo Bielsa. Thus, the possibility of a return to the World Cup for Uruguay's all-time leading scorer has not materialized.
The media previously reported that Suarez's time with the Uruguayan national team ended in 2024 after a goalless draw with Paraguay.

In the shared squad, Sergio Rochet, Fernando Muslera, and Santiago Mele are among the goalkeepers. Ronald Araujo, Jose Maria Gimenez, Santiago Bueno, Sebastian Caceres, Matias Olivera, Joaquin Piquerez, and Matias Vina have been called up in defense.
In midfield, there are Manuel Ugarte, Rodrigo Bentancur, Federico Valverde, Nicolas de la Cruz, Rodrigo Salazar, Facundo Pellistri, Maximiliano Araujo, and Brian Rodriguez.
In attack, Rodrigo Aguirre, Federico Vinas, and Darwin Nunez are included.
It should be noted that Luis Suarez has scored 69 goals in 143 matches for the Uruguayan national team and is considered the most prolific player in the country's football history. He has played in four World Cups.
