Inter Miami's Argentinian forward Lionel Messi was substituted in the 73rd minute of yesterday's match against Philadelphia Union (6-4) due to injury. Sport24.az reports that after the match, well-known journalist Gaston Edul shared details about the injury on social media:
"Lionel Messi asked to be substituted due to hamstring strain. However, it turned out that there is no fear of injury. Messi simply did not continue the game to prevent overloading and further aggravation of the area where he felt pain."
It should be noted that the World Cup 2026 will be held in the USA, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19. Argentina is in Group A with Algeria, Austria and Jordan. Argentina is the current world champion.
