La Liga president Javier Tebas has responded to FIFA president Gianni Infantino after the latter made a post criticizing those who spoke out against the 2026 World Cup.
Sport.Biz reports that in his post, Infantino responded to critics of the 2026 World Cup, calling for an end to hate.
"Today, Gianni Infantino posted a pathetic message on his account and FIFA pages.
No one disputes that football is built on emotion and unity. But transparency, good governance, and accountability are never hate; they are obligations. Strong institutions do not intimidate those who ask questions and respond to them.
And another thought, Gianni: when a leader dedicates an entire message to intimidating those who exercise legal control, inevitably, a question arises... Why now? Is there something that explains this defensive tone? Is something happening that we don't know about?" - Tebas wrote on his social media page.
The 2026 World Cup was held in three countries - the United States, Canada, and Mexico - from June 11 to July 19. Spain became the world champion. In the final of the World Cup, the Spanish national team met with Argentina.
