Chelsea defender and Spanish international Marc Cucurella has revealed the teams that could surprise at the 2026 World Cup.
Idman.Biz reports that the 27-year-old footballer said that, in addition to the traditional favorites, the Netherlands and Ecuador national teams could go far in the tournament.
"There are always typical favorites, but the Netherlands have a very good team. Ecuador, although they don't give me much confidence, will do well. There are good players in this team and they can do everything right," said Cucurella.
Cucurella paid special attention to the potential of the Ecuador national team. He emphasized that he knows Moises Caicedo, his teammate at Chelsea, well and that the South American representative could become a difficult opponent for Spain.
The Spanish defender also jokingly said that he wishes Ecuador would leave the tournament early: "I hope Ecuador goes home early."
