English football club Ipswich Town has announced the signing of a new goalkeeper.
Idman.biz reports, citing "BBC Sport", that the English club has signed Kjell Scherpen. The 26-year-old Dutch goalkeeper is the tallest footballer in the history of the Premier League.
Scherpen, who is 206 cm tall, has signed a 4-year contract with the "traktor" and will join the club from Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise.
The Dutch goalkeeper has taken the record from former Chelsea goalkeeper Lukas Bergstrom, who was 205 cm tall.
Scherpen has previously played for Ajax, Brighton, Ostende, Vitesse and Sturm before joining Union Saint-Gilloise.
