On the initiative of "Imishli" FC, 40 veteran football players who have made great contributions to the development of Azerbaijani football, and who are currently involved in football activities or are retired, were presented with gifts on the occasion of Qurban Bayram.
The main goal of the initiative was to remember football veterans on the holiday, to appreciate their contributions to the development of Azerbaijani football, and at the same time, in accordance with the sacred purpose of Qurban Bayram, to support low-income veteran football players within the framework of social responsibility.
The meeting held at the "Neftchi" base was attended by the vice-president of "Imishli" FC Shirin Ibrahimova, the club's manager Ilkin Ahmadov and the press secretary Leyla Behbudlu. Speaking at the event, club representatives conveyed the holiday greetings and best wishes of the president of "Imishli" FC Kamran Eyyubov to veteran football players.
The chairman of the Football Veterans Union, Oqtay Abdullayev, also noted in his speech that "Imishli" FC was the first among the Premier League clubs to come up with such an initiative. He highly appreciated this step and expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the club management.
In turn, veteran football players, who played an important role in the development of Azerbaijani football, thanked for the attention and care shown and wished success in the future activities of "Imishli" FC. Symbolic gifts and uniforms were presented to the club representatives by the chairman of the Football Veterans Union.
