Ilić: "If this happens again, I will not attend the next press conference"

After the match between "Imishli" and "Sumgayit" (0:2) in the XXIX round of the Misli Premier League, the head coach of the visiting team, Saša Ilić, answered journalists' questions. Sport24.az reports that the specialist first expressed his views on the meeting:

– Negative information is circulating in the press. This is unfair to me and the club. I have no problem with the players. Please, when writing articles, base them on reality. If this happens again, I will not attend the next press conference. As for the game, we won important points.

– Captain Sabuhi Abdullazade is protesting a lot. Is his punishment on the agenda?

– I have great respect for Sabuhi. I wouldn't say I don't like him. He just needs to change his game. It is normal for him to be substituted. Sabuhi has great potential, he is one of the important players of the national team.

-You created a lot of chances in the second half. What did you change in the break? 

-There is nothing unusual. We scored in the first half. After the break, the opponent came forward and gave spaces.

-Has it been clarified whether you will stay in the team in the new season? If so, what changes do you have in mind?

-After talking with the management, we decided to give young people a chance in the remaining part of this season. We will continue with this strategy.

-How will this strategy affect your fate in the club?

– Now our focus is on the next 4 games.

-I also apologize to the other journalists, maybe it was not understood correctly. I want to explain the problem. I want the realities about me, the team, to be written. Tell the journalist who wrote about my argument with Danil to write the truth. My work, my tactical moves may be bad and this can be written about. But it is not right to say things that are not.

-Don't you think that the points lost in games with outsiders left you out of the European Cups?

-If you are fighting for European Cups, it is important not to lose points in games with teams that have these goals.

– Ninković failed to score from the penalty again…
