"We have prepared well for the second half of the season. We have a game against "Difai" ahead. We are currently focused on that match." These words were said by "Karvan" football player Bahruz Teymurov in an interview with Sport24.az.
The 31-year-old striker stated that their goal is to win the championship in the I League:
"Nothing is clear yet. We have many games ahead. No one can say that our main rival "Gabala" will be the champion. We also have a goal. I believe we will achieve it. We are playing for the championship in the I League."
Teymurov, who is the top scorer of the lower division with 9 goals, said that it is more important for him that the team gets a ticket to the Premier League:
"I only want to bring the joy of championship to "Karvan" as a top scorer. But the most important thing is to finish the season in the first place. Being a top scorer is not that important."
The experienced player noted that he is in favor of increasing the number of teams in the Premier League:
"Everyone knows that 10 teams are too few. It would be very good if there were 12 or 14. The level of the championship would rise, and there would be development in the regions. Increasing the number would also give an advantage to children's football. Currently, there are children in the I League who are better than many in the Premier League. It's just that the coaches are insecure, they don't trust them. They look down on the I League, they don't call players from there."
He stated that the head coach of "Karvan", Kenan Kerimov, is also working very hard: "We trust him. We believe in him."
