"Except for one or two criteria added, no major changes are expected in this year's licensing rules".
This was stated to Idman.biz by Elchin Mammadov, the head of the AFFA Licensing Group.
He clarified the latest situation regarding the licensing of Azerbaijani football clubs. Mammadov said that the process is currently nearing completion: "Almost a large part of the work has been completed. The latest financial documents are coming in. Currently, clubs are working on these minor shortcomings".
The group leader stated that clubs playing in the I League are also actively participating in the licensing process: "Since a certain experience has already been formed, they understand this system well and approach the process more responsibly. All 10 clubs in the I League have applied for licensing to maintain their position. We will announce the number and information about those who applied to the Premier League on the day of the meeting".
It should be noted that the meeting of the AFFA Licensing Commission will be held on May 8.
