I hope everything will get better before the qualifying round matches.
"Report" informs that Aqil Nabiyev, the head coach of the Azerbaijani national team consisting of football players under 17 years old (born in 2009), said this while evaluating the performance at the UEFA Development Tournament held in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova.
The expert first expressed his opinion about the last match against the Estonian national team (1:2):
"Our expectation in the game with Estonia was a victory. However, in the UEFA Development Tournament, we had to give all 20 football players in the squad at least 90 minutes of chance. For this reason, we gave a chance to the children who got less playing minutes in the first two matches. In general, the advantage was on our side. Unfortunately, we conceded two goals due to individual mistakes. We could not complete the countless opportunities we caught with a goal. This stems from the lack of individual qualities and technical skills of the players. Time is needed to eliminate the problems. But we don't have time to work on these in the national team. Our work in the national team is based purely on tactical moves. Footballers should try to eliminate this problem in their clubs."
Aqil Nabiyev emphasized that U-17 is developing:
"This was our second gathering. We felt a big difference between the previous preparation and this gathering. There is development in the children. I believe we can achieve better results with these players. The game with Georgia showed that the team has potential. It's just that children suffer from a lack of international game experience. I hope everything will get better before the qualifying round matches."
It should be noted that our U-17 national team faced the corresponding age group teams of Moldova (0:1), Georgia (1:0) and Estonia (1:2) in the UEFA Development Tournament.
