Gurban Gurbanov: "There will be some changes, but that doesn't mean we will change the whole team."

Qarabag drew 1-1 with Sabah in the 32nd round of the Premier League, securing their next Azerbaijani championship.

Idman.biz reports that the head coach of the champion team, Gurban Gurbanov, shared his thoughts on the match at a press conference.

He emphasized that it was a game worthy of a true championship: "After a year of hard work, we have achieved such success. We are very happy about this. Although the number of championships is high, my players are able to maintain this stability. Therefore, I thank my players."

Speaking about the opponent, Gurbanov said that Sabah has always made a good impression on him: "They have fast, technical players. When facing this team, it is always necessary to analyze well. They launch good, well-thought-out attacks. Any momentary carelessness can result in a goal in our goal."

The head coach of Qarabag answered the question about possible radical changes in the team as follows: "Radical changes are a bit difficult. We have to act according to the situation. It is very difficult to change the whole team. Believe me, I don't want to send any of them away, no matter which team I have worked with. Because their efforts are great. But in general, we will look at the process and take steps. Certain changes are expected, but this does not mean that we will change the team completely."

Gurbanov also spoke about possible transfers and the next Champions League: "In general, we have discussions with the club management every time. Our focus is more on the summer transfer window. Over the years, we have negotiated with 4-5 players, but in the end, you see that we were only able to bring two of them. Footballers today are more inclined towards Europe. In general, it is difficult to bring in a player. We want to transfer a player to every position. We have plans to bring in several players. There have been some players with whom we have had long negotiations and we have worked hard to convince them. A footballer's career is short. Therefore, if they perform here wholeheartedly, I must also make certain compromises."

Regarding the Champions League, I cannot comment yet. We have time for that. But in general, we want to achieve successful results in every tournament."
