Recently, news has spread that Pep Guardiola and Xavi have supposedly submitted their candidacies for the position of head coach of the Indian national football team.
Idman.biz reports that the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has already officially confirmed that there was forgery in this matter.
The AIFF statement says: "We have received emails mentioning the names of Pep Guardiola and Xavi. But it was not possible to confirm their authenticity. It turned out that the applications are fake."
A total of 170 applications were received for the position of head coach of the Indian national team. AIFF has prepared a shortlist of three real candidates and rejected the applications of "Guardiola" and "Xavi" as a joke or fraud.
Interestingly, some media quoted federation representatives as saying that "Xavi is too expensive an option."
Indian journalists suspect that a 19-year-old "prankster" using fake email addresses may be behind this incident.
Real candidates include Stephen Constantine (former head coach of the Indian national team), Khalid Jamil, and Stefan Tarkovic (former head coach of the Slovak national team).
