Barcelona's young midfielder Gavi has made remarkable statements about Real Madrid. Sport24.az reports that the Spanish footballer, in an interview with El Mundo Deportivo, stated that the capital's representative is constantly trying to overshadow Barcelona's achievements:
"Everyone knows that Madrid always tries to belittle and devalue the titles we have won."
Gavi highly appreciated the Catalans becoming La Liga champions for two consecutive seasons:
"Winning the championship twice in a row with a team whose majority are La Masia graduates and who make very few transfers is a great achievement."
The young player also made an interesting confession about his eternal rivals:
"Honestly, I wanted Real Madrid to beat Espanyol. Because we wanted to beat them at our stadium, in front of our fans. That's what happened, and it was more pleasant for me."
The Spanish footballer also commented on the alleged incident between Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde:
"If there really was a fight, the head coach shouldn't have played him. But I don't really know what exactly happened there."
Gavi also responded harshly to the criticism addressed to him:
"There are a lot of people who don't have any understanding of football. The main thing for me is the opinion of the head coach."
