Galatasaray is concerned about security issues ahead of its match against Lyon in the third matchday of the UEFA Champions League league phase.
İdman.Biz reports, citing Turkish media, that the Istanbul club is preparing a formal appeal to UEFA due to recent protest actions in France.
The Turkish club is requesting additional measures to ensure the safety of the delegation and fans traveling with the team.
According to the information, Galatasaray is in contact with the French Embassy and the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the matter.
The club is not requesting that the match be moved to another stadium. The main goal is to strengthen security measures in the area where the match will be held.
It is expected that similar measures will also be applied during the PSG vs Barcelona match.
It should be noted that the Lyon vs Galatasaray match will take place on October 21 at the Decathlon Arena – Pierre Mauroy stadium in France.
