"Qarabag" concedes goals easily.
This was stated by Emin Imamaliyev, a former football player of "Qarabag", in an interview with
"Report", while evaluating the match with FCSB (Romania) in the VII round of the League stage of the UEFA Europa League.
He emphasized the factor of luck:
"Maybe it was influenced by Juninho's departure from the team. But I think the luck factor played a major role. "Qarabag" did not lag behind their opponents in all games. They even showed superior play in many of them. They could not take advantage of many scoring opportunities in yesterday's match. You also lose when you don't use the created scoring situations. They made mistakes in defense."
The former midfielder of the Azerbaijan national team does not believe that there is complacency in "Qarabag":
"I played football with Gurban Gurbanov, and he was also my coach. He doesn't have such a character that complacency arises and affects the team. Also, there is no easy opponent in football now. Even the opponent we consider the weakest can play well in the defense plan. This is the case both at the club and national levels. In the past 7 games, along with the luck factor, there was also sometimes referee injustice. Maybe it looks like that from the outside. But "Qarabag" concedes goals easily. They conceded three goals from standard situations in yesterday's match. Maybe there is a lack in this regard in the team."
E. Imamaliyev does not rule out that the team's failure may be related to the new format of the UEFA Europa League:
"According to the new format, you play one game against each team. For this reason, a good analysis should be done. "Qarabag" has an experienced coaching staff and I have no doubt that they are doing good analysis. Inevitably, this may also have certain effects. Because in the first game you can see the opponent's strengths and weaknesses, you correct the mistakes. Despite all this, I thought "Qarabag" would qualify for the play-off stage. It's football, sometimes you don't get what you want."
It should be noted that the "Qarabag" - FCSB match, which took place at the Tofig Bahramov Republican Stadium, ended with a 3:2 victory for the Romanian representative. After this match, the representative of Aghdam lost the chance to reach the play-offs in the UEFA Europa League.
