Veronica Skvinzi, vice-president of the "Sassuolo" club, announced that Alberto Aquilani, a former player of the Italian national team, has been appointed as the head coach.

"I'm very happy to invite this specialist. Also, considering that in 2017 he wore the black-green uniform as a player, this is a long-awaited return. Since then, both the club and the coach have strengthened, and I think we can write new and interesting pages in the history of our team together", - the club's press service said.
"Sassuolo" finished 11th in Serie A last season.
