The increase in online abuse, especially against players, coaches, and referees, has prompted FIFA to implement new mechanisms.
İdman.Biz reports that FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced that fans found guilty of online abuse will be placed on a special blacklist and will not be able to purchase tickets to the organization's tournaments.
According to the federation, the Social Media Monitoring Service (SMPS) is already being implemented in several major tournaments and is actively working to identify offenders. Since 2022, more than 65,000 requests have been sent to platforms to remove abusive content, with nearly 30,000 of them occurring this year.
Infantino stated that football must be a safe environment on the field, in the stands, and online. He added that individuals who engage in such behavior will be denied access to FIFA events.
In 2025, information about 11 people has already been sent to law enforcement agencies in various countries, from Argentina to Brazil, France to Poland, Spain to the United States. One incident even reached Interpol.
It is noted that national associations are also taking measures in this direction.
