The head coach of the Azerbaijani national team, Fernandu Santos, reacted to the death of Diogo Jota, a football player of the Portuguese national team and the English club Liverpool.
Idman.biz reports that the Portuguese specialist made a statement to the A BOLA portal about this.
Santos said that he remembers Jota first of all as a dignified person: "Jota remained in the shadow of Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the best in the world, but he always found his place in the national team. I was shocked when I heard the news. He debuted under my leadership at the age of 22. I can only pray a lot for him now. I am thinking about his family."
The former head coach of the Portuguese national team characterized Diogo, whom he called a "great player", first of all as an "excellent person": "It is difficult to talk about a football player at such times. He always knew his place, he was a dignified person."
It should be noted that Diogo Jota died yesterday in a car accident in Spain at the age of 28. His 26-year-old brother Andre, who was in the car with him, also died.
