Everton have lost their court case against Burnley and will now have to pay around £35m in compensation. According to Sport24.az, "Mirror" has reported on this matter.
The Liverpool representative breached the league's financial stability rules in the 2021/22 season. However, the club was only deducted six points in the 2023/24 season. If Everton had been deducted points in the 2021/22 season, Burnley would not have been relegated. Therefore, the club has appealed to the court, demanding compensation.
Note that Everton has filed an appeal against the court's decision and is seeking its cancellation.
