It turns out that Uzbek Abdukodir Khusanov, who recently signed a contract with "Manchester City", was previously in the sphere of interest of "Manchester United", another representative of the city. Sport24.az reports that the player's agent, Hayrat Hasbiullin, said in a statement to the press:
"German and Italian clubs were also interested in Abdukodir. In 2023, Nicolas Cenalli, a scout for "Manchester United", contacted me at the U-20 World Championship in Argentina and said he wanted to meet. I was there too. He said that my client is a football player worthy of the real "Manchester United". I already understood then that Abdukodir would move to one of the top clubs in the near future. We talked and agreed. But Erik ten Hag, who was "at the helm" of the team at that time, did not agree to this transfer."
It should be noted that 20-year-old Khusanov was transferred from French "Lens" to "Manchester City" for 50 million euros some time ago.
