The 46-year-old Italian specialist has signed a contract with the club until 2029. The city management has given Maresca full authority to shape the team's transfer strategy.
Enzo Maresca became a free agent after leaving Chelsea in January this year. He has experience at Manchester City, having been a member of Pep Guardiola's coaching staff from 2022 to 2023. He has also previously worked in the club's youth teams.
On May 22, 2026, Manchester City's official website reported that Josep Guardiola had resigned as head coach of the club at the end of the 2025/2026 season, although his contract still ran until the summer of 2027.
