Elvin Yunuszade: "You must always be prepared for all possibilities"

Interview of "Gabala" football player Elvin Yunuszade to Sport24.az

- You will face "Imishli" away in the 22nd round of the First League. What can you say about the game?

- This away game is difficult for every team. It will be the same for us. We know that. That's why we have prepared accordingly. The opponent is one of the favorites and best teams in the championship. They have a strong squad. I know that our fans are waiting for a very interesting match.

- If you win, you will secure the championship regardless of other results. Are you focused on this?

- Of course. We intend to achieve the desired result and secure the championship. But this is football. You have to be ready for anything at any moment. We will try to do more than we can. 

- After finishing the season as a champion, do you want to finish the First League without defeat?

- First of all, we have goals set for us. Our first goal was to get a ticket to the Premier League, to become a champion. Along with these, it would be nice for us to finish the season without defeat. But first of all, we must think about the higher level and play football accordingly. By higher level, I mean the Premier League. 

- Next season you will play in the Premier League. Will we see an ambitious "Gabala"?

- Yes. "Gabala" has always added color to the country's football. It has been one of the most important and ambitious teams in the championship. They played in the group stages of the European Cups, fought for the championship, and won the national cup. "Gabala" will be ambitious in the year they play in the Premier League. 

- How about you, do you want to stay in the team next season?

- Of course. It would be nice for me to be in a team like "Gabala". 

- Have there been talks with the management about this?

- First of all, we want to achieve the goal set for us. After finishing the championship, we will have time to sit down and talk. I think everything will end positively.
