English football team "Arsenal" midfielder Declan Rice said that head coach Mikel Arteta played a big role in his development.
Idman.Biz reports that the English footballer said that Arteta turned him into a more universal midfielder.
"He turned me into a more versatile midfielder. A player who can be useful everywhere, both in attack and defense. I heard Steven Gerrard say that he saw himself as a midfielder who could do a little bit of everything. I feel the same way about myself. I can help in attack, I can help in defense. If necessary, I will stay behind and help the defense. If necessary, I will go forward and support the attack," he said.
The footballer also recalled the special value Arteta gave him:
"I want to be active, show my character and strengths. Arteta has helped me a lot in this regard in recent years. In one of our first meetings, he called me the "beacon" of Arsenal. I had never heard such an expression before. He sometimes says words that you won't hear from anyone. It was very special to me".
