The uncertainty surrounding the participation of the Congo DR national team in the 2026 World Cup has been clarified.
Idman.Biz reports that, based on the outcome of the meeting between the Congolese Football Federation (FECOFA) and FIFA, it has been determined that the national team's players and staff have complied with the sanitary regulations applied in the United States. Therefore, the team delegation has been advised to continue preparations for the World Cup.
The statement also noted that the issue of compensation from FIFA to fans who could not obtain US visas and purchased tickets for the tournament may be considered.
It should be noted that the team's participation in the tournament was previously in question due to the epidemiological situation (concerns about the spread of the Ebola virus). However, it has been recommended that players comply with isolation rules in order to be able to participate in the tournament.
