The Football Association (FA) has fined Chelsea for breaching transfer rules during Roman Abramovich's ownership. The London club has been handed a conditional ban on registering new players for two transfer windows and a fine of £10 million. According to Sport24.az, the investigation covered 74 episodes between 2009 and 2022. The reviewed contracts included the transfers of players such as Villian, Eden Azar, and Samuel Eto"o.
It is noted that after the change of leadership, the current management of Chelsea voluntarily provided the FA with information about possible rule violations.
After the appeal, the transfer ban and possible deduction of 6 points were made conditional, but the club was imposed a financial sanction.
In March of this year, the Premier League also imposed a one-year conditional transfer ban on Chelsea for breaching rules on secret agent payments and registration of academy players.
