Sevilla's defender Cesar Azpilicueta has ended his professional career.
Idman.Biz reports that the 36-year-old Spanish footballer last wore the uniform of the La Liga representative.
During his career, Azpilicueta played 44 games for the Spanish national team and scored one goal. He participated in two World Championships and one European Championship with the national team.
The defender started his professional career at the Spanish club Osasuna. At the club level, he played for Marseille (France), Chelsea (England), Atletico Madrid and Sevilla (Spain).
The most brilliant period of his career is associated with Chelsea. Having spent 12 seasons at the London club, the footballer has appeared in more than 500 matches and, as captain, has won a number of titles, including the Champions League, Premier League, Europa League, Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup.
According to reports, Azpilicueta will work as a commentator for the BBC during the 2026 World Cup.
