In the last match against Brighton, Fernandes assisted Patrick Dorqu's goal. This was his 21st assist of the season.
Thus, Fernandes surpassed the record of Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne. Both players had 20 assists in a season.
The 31-year-old Fernandes has been playing for Manchester United since 2020. He won the English Cup and League Cup with the club.
