French club Lens's Malian midfielder Mamadou Sangare is close to continuing his career at English club Brentford.
İdman.Biz reports, citing L'Équipe, that the 24-year-old player has left Lens' camp and is headed to Paris to finalize the transfer. Brentford will pay 48 million euros (93.4 million manat) for Sangare, excluding bonuses.
Sangare joined Lens from Austrian club Rapid just a year ago. The French side paid five million euros for him, with an additional three million euros in bonuses. Thus, Lens is set to make a significant profit from the sale of the midfielder after just one season.
The basic amount of 48 million euros will be the most expensive sale in Lens' history.
