Transfer rumors about the future career of Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni have been put to rest. Sport24.az reports, citing La Gazzetta Dello Sport, that the Italian national team member, whose name has been linked with Barcelona, will continue his career at the Milan club.
Club President Giuseppe Marotta stated firmly in an interview with DAZN that the 25-year-old defender will remain with the team:
"Our fans can rest assured. Bastoni has never wanted to leave the team, he is very happy here. We are not a club that sells its leading players. I have no doubt that he will stay with us."
Despite serious interest from the Catalan club, the young defender's chances of moving to the Camp Nou have dropped to zero. Based on the current situation, Inter management is fully determined to keep Bastoni in the squad and has declared transfer negotiations closed.
