If "Barcelona" is found guilty of breaking the law in trying to acquire Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, "Blaugrana" may lose three points in La Liga and/or have their training ground closed for three games or up to two months, either partially or fully.
Sport.Biz reports, citing "Marca", that the player may also be banned from registering for one or more transfer windows.
According to the source, those involved in the case may be suspended from competitions for a period of one month to two years or a minimum of four games (coaches and players). The punished player will have to pay compensation to the club for his absence.
It is emphasized that potential sanctions against Alvarez have not discouraged "Atletico", and he is "determined" to ensure that those responsible are punished.
On July 30, it was reported that Atletico filed a complaint with the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) against Barcelona for the alleged illegal attempts to acquire Alvarez. Barcelona may be punished under Article 93 of the RFEF Disciplinary Code.
