Atletico Madrid has reacted sharply to Real Madrid's attempt to sign forward Julian Alvarez.
According to Sport.Biz, after the club made a 150 million euro offer, Atletico initially shared a message with several laughing emojis on social media.
Atletico then made a more stringent statement.
One of the club's statements reads: "If you amuse us more than Barcelona, how can we maintain a good relationship?"
Atletico also emphasized that they will not consider offers for the Argentine striker.
"To avoid any misunderstanding: we are not grateful to you for anything. We are not considering or evaluating any offer for Julian Alvarez," the club said.
Real Madrid had previously announced a 150 million euro offer for the striker, but it was rejected.
Alvarez's contract runs until 2030 and his release clause is 500 million euros.
