Atletico Madrid has become the club with the most players in the final of a World Cup for the third consecutive time.
Sport.Biz reports that a total of 10 Atletico Madrid players will feature in the decisive match between Spain and Argentina at the 2026 World Cup.
Atletico Madrid will be represented by Marcos Llorente, Mark Pubil, Aleks Baena, and Alexandro Grimaldo in the Spain national team.
Meanwhile, the Argentina national team will feature Julian Alvarez, Nahuel Molina, Juan Musso, Thiago Almada, Giuliano Simeone, and Nico Gonzalez.
Note that while Gonzalez's contract belongs to Juventus, the player has spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Atletico Madrid.
Atletico Madrid's representation in World Cup finals is as follows:
World Cup 2018 - 4 players: Antoine Griezmann, Lucas Hernandez, and Thomas Lemar for France, and Sime Vrsaljko for Croatia.
World Cup 2022 - 4 players: Antoine Griezmann for France, Rodrigo De Paul, Nahuel Molina, and Angel Correa for Argentina.
World Cup 2026 - 10 players: 4 from the Spain national team and 6 from the Argentina national team will represent Atletico Madrid in the final.
According to Atletico Madrid's official information, this is the highest representation of any club in a World Cup final since 1934.
The Spain-Argentina final will take place on July 19 at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, at 23:00 Baku time.
