"Even before yesterday's game, the thoughts were that "Qarabagh" is superior to "Shkendija" and will surpass the opponent based on the results of two games."
Idman.biz reports that these words were said by Arif Asadov, the former coach of the Azerbaijani national team, in his statement to Spor24.az.
The experienced specialist shared his thoughts on the first match of the III qualifying round of the Champions League, in which the Azerbaijani champion defeated "Shkendija" (1:0) in North Macedonia: "The first match showed that the Aghdam representative is superior to the opponent in all criteria. Our representative showed a good game in the first half. The opponent is a disciplined team. Player quality, especially in the attacking phase, is lacking. It is felt that they are wary of "Qarabagh". They could not attack with great force in the second half. "Qarabagh" has already solved 70 percent of the qualification for the next stage. Next week, it is necessary to take the opponent seriously from the first minutes in their home field and decide the fate of the game in the first half. I think "Qarabagh" has secured qualification for the next stage."
It should be noted that the return match between the teams will be held in Baku on August 12.
