Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon could continue his career at Spanish football club Barcelona.
Idman.Biz reports that the Catalan representative has reached a full agreement with the 25-year-old footballer on the terms of a personal contract. Barcelona are in direct and formal negotiations with Newcastle to finalise the transfer in the short term.
According to reports, Barcelona intend to close the transfer within a week. The club wants to prevent interference from English Premier League representatives and German football club Bayern Munich.
Gordon has stood out as one of Newcastle's main attacking weapons in the 2025/2026 season. The England international was particularly memorable for his brilliant performance against Qarabag in the Champions League play-off stage. He scored four goals in the away game against the Aghdam representative. Newcastle defeated Qarabag 6-1 in that match.
It is reported that Barcelona are preparing an offer for Gordon in the range of approximately 70-80 million euros (140-160 million AZN).
It should be noted that Gordon's speed, one-on-one play on the flank and ability to play in various positions in the attacking line are considered to be in line with the plans of Barcelona head coach Hans-Dieter Flick.
