Brazil national team coach Carlo Ancelotti made interesting statements after his team's 6-2 victory over Panama. Sport24.az reports that the Italian specialist was pleased with the performance of the players who came on in the second half, saying that this made his choices regarding the main squad before the World Cup more difficult:
"The second half raised more questions for me. This is a doubt in a positive sense. The players showed that they can compete with those who play in the main squad. However, we must also take into account that the opponent also slowed down in the second half."
The experienced coach admitted that the team did not look compact enough in the first half, drawing attention to the shortcomings in the defensive line:
"This was very obvious. Reliability in defense is very important for us and we must definitely improve in this direction."
Noting that the squad has not yet been fully determined and that he can change both players and the tactical system if necessary, Ancelotti said, "What is certain is that we have a very strong team."
The head coach expressed particularly high opinions about Rafinha, one of the team's stars:
"I want him to stay close to the opponent's defensive line. Because I believe he is the best player in the world in terms of attacking depth. When we have the ball, I won't tell him where to play. Rafinha must find the most suitable position on the field with his creativity and quality."
Ancelotti also jokingly answered a question about Neymar's future in the team:
"The Neymar topic is closed. Now we need to find another good topic to talk about."
It should be noted that the Brazilian national team continues its preparations for the 2026 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico.
