Adil Shukurov: "We saw that FCSB was ready for such a course of events"

"The Qarabag - FCSB match turned out to be high-scoring and dynamic, just as I thought. Qarabag has always shown beautiful football against this type of team. In this game, we witnessed the superior game of our representative."   Adil Shukurov said these words in his statement to Sport24.az.   The experienced expert shared his thoughts on the Qarabag-FCSB match held in Baku yesterday.   "As always, Qurban Qurbanov's team forced the FCSB defense to make mistakes by actively pressing in the third zone. But we saw that the FCSB team was ready for such a course of events. During the game, although the FCSB team attacked with a maximum of 4-5 players, they maintained compactness in defense. However, despite this, the goal scored by Leandro Andrade in the second minute of the game, passing through the FCSB defense due to his personal qualities, showed the gap in the opponent's defense. Unfortunately, the FCSB team took maximum advantage of the gap in standard situations in Qarabag and left Baku superior in the overall result. Qarabag's failure to take advantage of the opportunities again, as in previous matches, finally crossed out the chance of the play-off completely. Looking at the beautiful games that Qarabag played in this year's European League games, one could think that the team would rise to the group stage in the games held in the new format this year. But the waste of goal opportunities caused Qarabag to be out of European Cups today." It should be noted that the meeting ended with a 3:2 victory for the Romanian club.
