Qarabag's footballer Abdullah Zubir has played his 100th match in European Cups. Sport24.az reports with reference to the press service of the Professional Football League that the 33-year-old French midfielder's jubilee coincided with the return match (1:0) of the second qualifying round of the Champions League against Shelbourne (Ireland).
He debuted in continental cups in 2018. Zubir has only worn the Qarabag uniform in European Cups.
The midfielder has played 34 matches in the Champions League, 50 in the Europa League, and 16 in the Conference League. With 14 goals scored in these matches, he is the best scorer of Azerbaijani clubs.
Zubir is the first foreign player to play 100 or more European Cup matches in Azerbaijani clubs. Before him, only three football players left "100" behind. These are Maksim Medvedev, Gara Garayev and Rashad Sadygov.
