The "Shirvan Open 2025" international chess festival has concluded.
Idman.Biz reports that more than 240 chess players from 8 countries participated in the festival, which was organized by the Azerbaijan Chess Federation, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Shirvan City Olympic Sports Complex.
The winner of Group A was Indian chess player Mayank Chakraborty. Azerbaijani representative Vugar Rasulov took second place. The third place was taken by Indian chess player Subhayan Kundu.
Maharram Jafarov won the title of winner in Group B. Ali Salimzade and Fuad Mammadov took second and third places, respectively.
Murad Ibrahimli became the winner of the rapid competition organized within the framework of the festival. Vugar Manafov won the blitz tournament.
In total, the winners in various places will be awarded a cash prize of 22,650 AZN.
It should be noted that the festival is the 8th and last competition of this year held within the framework of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation's "Chess Tour Azerbaijan" project.
