The European Club Cup in chess will start on October 19 on the island of Rhodes, Greece.
Idman.Biz reports that Azerbaijan will be represented at the prestigious competition by the "Vugar Gashimov" team.
It was reported that Rauf Mammadov, Aydin Suleymanli, Ahmad Ahmadzade, Read Samadov, Vugar Manafov, Khazar Babazade and Kazakhstani chess player Kazibek Nogerbek will play in the team. The captain of the "Vugar Gashimov" team is Sarkhan Hashimov.
Other Azerbaijani chess players will also compete in the European Cup. Shahriyar Mammadyarov, a member of the national team, will compete for the Turkish club "Bayedak Pendik", Ulviyya Fataliyeva for the Romanian club "SuperChess", and Govhar Beydullayeva for the Serbian club "Sirmium Sremska Mitrovica". Our young chess player Khagan Ahmad will defend the honor of the "Turkish Airlines" club.
