The international tournament "Vugar Gashimov Open 2025", organized by the Vugar Gashimov Chess Foundation, continues in Baku.
Idman.biz reports that after 6 rounds, the fight for prizes has intensified even further.
Four participants, each scoring 5.5 points, are simultaneously at the top of the standings. These are Tunar Davudov, Shiroglan Talibov, Vugar Manafov, and Ahmad Ahmadzade.
It is likely that the fight for the main prize will be between them in the remaining two rounds.
It should be noted that the tournament is included in the "Chess Tour Azerbaijan" project, which is being implemented for the first time on the initiative of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation. 206 chess players from 6 countries participate in the 11th edition of the competition.
