The "Ganja Open 2025" International Chess Festival will be organized within the framework of the "Azerbaijan Chess Tour", which is held at the initiative of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation.
Idman.biz reports that the festival will be held in Ganja, the second largest city in the country.
The chess festival with a total prize fund of 41,200 AZN (24,235 USD) will be held in groups A and B. It is also planned to hold rapid and blitz tournaments within the framework of the festival.
Chess players with a rating of 2000 and higher can participate in group A, and chess players with a rating of up to 1999 can participate in group B. There are no rating restrictions in rapid and blitz.
It should be noted that Ganja Open is the 7th open-type competition in the "Azerbaijan Chess Tour" project. The festival will have the largest prize fund after the "Baku Open".
