The Azerbaijan Championships among men and women in rapid and blitz chess will be held with the organization of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation. Sport24.az reports that the competitions, which will be held on December 4-8, will consist of 9 rounds according to the Swiss system.
Chess players with a FIDE rating (classic, rapid or blitz) of 2100 or higher for men and 2000 or higher for women can participate in the championship.
The total prize fund of the competition is 10,000 manats. 6,000 manats of this amount will be played in the men's tournament, and 4,000 manats in the women's tournament.
The competition system and the number of rounds may vary depending on the number of participants
It should be noted that the chess players who take the first 3 places in the national championships will be sent to the world championship in Qatar.
