The International Chess Federation (FIDE) has announced the rating of chess players as of October 1.
Idman.biz reports that Azerbaijani grandmaster Shahriyar Mamedyarov has improved his position in the updated FIDE ratings, while Ulviyya Fataliyeva has achieved real progress.
Shahriyar Mamedyarov rose from 16th to 14th place in the world ranking with 2742 points.
In the list, former world champion Viswanathan Anand (India) is in 13th place with 2743 points, and Hans Niemann (USA) is in 15th place with 2738 points.
The world's top 100 male chess players also include Teymur Rajabov (38th place with 2692 points), Rauf Mammadov (62nd place with 2655 points) and Eltaj Safarli (100th place with 2630 points).

Ulviyya Fataliyeva made successful progress in the women's rating table, recently taking 6th place in the prestigious "Grand Swiss" tournament held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
Ulviyya Fataliyeva has 2410 points and rose to 35th place. Thanks to her success in Uzbekistan, the Azerbaijani chess player moved up 23 places in the list and scored 25 points.
Also, Gunay Mammadzada (51st place with 2390 points), Govhar Beydullayeva (73rd place with 2362 points) and Khanim Balajayeva (87th place with 2351 points) represent our country among the top 100 female chess players in the world.
